FUN THINGS TO DO AT HOME

Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a wonderful alternative to Yoga Basics. The moderate pace creates an accessible environment for students with less yoga experience. Gentle yoga is good for active residents, as well as residents with limited mobility. 

  • Mondays and Wednesdays:
    • Time: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
    • Cost: $40.00 Residents and $90.00 for Non-Residents for each eight-week session.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing on the ground while using a chair for support. It is beneficial for people with limited mobility and for those who want to practice yoga at their workplace.

  • Tuesdays:
    • Time: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
    • Cost: $40.00 Residents and $90.00 for Non-Residents for each eight-week session.

Tai-Chi Program

The Tai-Chi class is very popular with our senior residents. Tai-Chi provides balance, focus, motion, endurance and overall health. Our evening classes of Tai-Chi focuses on slower movements and more care for those with less mobility.

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays:
    • Time: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
    • Cost: $50.00 Residents and $100.00 Non-Residents for each eight-week session.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays:
    • Time: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
    • Cost: $40.00 for Residents and $90.00 for Non-Residents for each eight-week session.

Senior Social & Bridge Day

Join our senior residents for conversation, cards and board games. We have classics like Mahjong and Chess, Rummy, Checkers and Bridge. Our Bridge Club plays Party Five Style of Bridge and not duplicate style. Refreshments available on the first and third Wednesday of every month.

  • Wednesdays:
    • Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM  
    • Cost: Free for Residents

Senior on The Go

Join us monthly for a great experience, while making new friends. Each month our department plans and organizes monthly cultural trips to different locations in South Florida at a reasonable cost.

  • Every 3rd Friday of the month:
    • Time: The bus departs from the community center at 10:00 AM and returns around 3:30 PM depending on traffic.
    • Cost: Transportation is free, however, each participant is responsible for the price of admission if applicable.

For the month of January 2020, the Senior on the Go trip is to the Knaus Berry Farm on Friday, January 17th, 2020. Admission to the Knaus Berry Farm is free but the farm store is cash only. Please visit www.knausberryfarm.com for more information.

Senior Computer Class

Our Senior Computer Class is designed to provide students with a basic knowledge of computer principles, hardware, software to develops familiarity with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, email and Internet basics including social media. 

  • Wednesdays:
    • Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
    • Cost: $50.00 Residents and $90.00 Non-Residents for each eight-week session.

Senior Matinee

For our Senior residents, we have a lineup of classical best motion pictures to come an enjoy with their friends. Refreshments will be provided.

  • Last Friday of every month:
    • Time: 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM 
    • Cost: Free for Residents
