UPDATED TRAFFIC ALERT
On June 24, 2021, there was a partial collapse of the Champlain Towers building in Surfside. While over 100 persons have been accounted for, not all persons have. At this point, an active search and rescue mission is still ongoing at the incident site. As such, access to the site and the surrounding area is strictly limited due to the increased amount of heavy machinery and personnel needed to continue the search and rescue.
Traffic is Being Directed Away from the Incident Site Until Further Notice
No civilian traffic will be permitted use of Harding or Collins Avenue between 90th and 85th Streets. All traffic approaching the collapse site will be rerouted. We suggest that persons wishing to travel to and from Bay Harbor Islands from the south take 96th Street to/from Biscayne Boulevard or I-95, as their North/South route, and use either the 79th Street Causeway, I-195 or I-395 to travel east/west.
