Accidental Discharge of Firearm (Non-Lethal) by a Resident

On Thursday, January 7, 2021 at approximately 5:40 PM, officers of the Bay Harbor Islands Police Department responded to a call of an accidental shooting in the 9200 block of West Bay Harbor Drive. 

Once on scene, officers identified one juvenile victim with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

There is no threat to the public at this time. This was an isolated incident involving an apparent accidental discharge of a firearm. The incident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
