Did you know that Florida has the most cycling accidents in the country and that Miami-Dade County ranks first? In 2020, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles notes there were 5,082 reported bicycle crashes, despite vehicle traffic having decreased by approximately 40%. 

127 of those 2020 bicycle accidents were fatal. One of those lives lost was a teenager from our area who was struck and killed last August while crossing the street. 

Bicycle safety, proper cycling etiquette and how to avoid being a statistic is something everyone who bicycles should learn - especially children. Let's keep our kids safe.
